Does anyone have tips on how to travel with your cats on a plane?
Surfer06 asked:
I was told by Jet Blue that I do not need a health certificate, but do airports require them? Also, I have been reading differing opinions on sedatives, thoughts, suggestions? Thanks!
I am confirmed to carry on my cat in a sherpa carrier. I know you need to call ahead.
I also got a sedative from my vet. I am looking for helpful solutions to make the flight as smooth as possible.. Thanks!

Different airlines have different policies. Make sure you check the website of that airline on the rules. Talk to your vet about a mild sedative and make sure they fit into the softsided carrier comfortably. They travel under the seat in front of you and my pets have always done well on the plane. Just remember that you have to take them out of the carrier when you go through the metal detector and they might be scared so hang on tight so they dont bolt in the airport. Also, you do have to make a reservation for them, be sure to call ahead.

I do know you will need a pet caddy for your cat because the pet will be in the cargo area of the plane-different airlines have different rules regarding health records-if your cat is the nervous type-you may need to sedate.

Your vet should be able to get you some sedatives and it should be fine.

I never agree with airlines policy about travel with pets
that is the reason why I travel only with a mini Van
last travel was New York to Arizona and my pets
2 cats 1 dog are so glad I don’t put them into airplane
cargo for 6 hours or more…
so my suggestions rent a mini Van
