yankee_sailor asked: How do pro teams, and all the coaches, trainers, equipment et alia get from city to city? I could see short range bus trips, but say the Pats are going to Seattle ….commercial jet? charter jet that specializes in flying sports teams? and if by air, is there a special configuration…i.e. 60 business class seats?
If not who gets to sit up front and who in the back 6 accross. Specific answers, if you can….ie the Pats have a 757 that does nothing but fly the team, and has 80% business class seating; the Giants have a 727 that also flys the Yankees or Nets….details like that if you have ‘em…….

mistaken4sane asked: I am obviously talking about like a commercial jet plane, not a private or charter plane.
Once I was talking a small NW Airlines/Mesaba plane from Memphis to Greenville, MS and it was only me and one other lady!
So, there was a total of 5 people on the plane — 2 passengers, 2 pilots and a flight attendent. It was really weird.

Chris in Wichita asked: In addition, and maybe more importantly, do third party charter operators use those call signs when providing extra lift for a fractional operator?
Do NetJets, FlightOptions, Flexjet & CitationShares always file under a call sign (EJA, FO, LXJ, FIV) either because they are required to by the FAA or as company policy?
-Thanks in advance

yankee_sailor asked: How do pro teams, and all the coaches, trainers, equipment et alia get from city to city? I could see short range bus trips, but say the Red Sox are going to Seattle then Oakland then LA…..commercial jet? charter jet that specializes in flying sports teams? and if by air, is there a special configuration…i.e. 60 business class seats?
If not who gets to sit up front and who in the back 6 accross?
thanks for the answers so far…but I’d like a little more detail…and yes I understand the Phillies would take a bus to NYC or Washington, or the Tigers a bus to Chicago…..but if a team is traveling by plane….I cant see flying commercial, especially since a baseball game has no time limit…Hello, American? Can you hold the 9:30 flight till whenever we get there? I have reservations for 79..name of Stienbrenner……..
SO is there a private company that specializes in this business with extra large seating?
Does one plane ‘belong’ to a team and it sits in the airport during a 3 game series?
Or does it drop the Sox in Seattle, take the Giants to New York, pick up KC and take them to LA and then get the Sox and take ‘em to Detroit?
oh yeah, we all realize A-Rod flies on his inflated ego….

The big Idea asked: With the new very light jets that are comming out do you believe people will switch from using airlines or driving long distances. What type of person or company do you feel will make this switch. Do you feel an “air taxi” system that books these planes on a per seat on demand basis instead of the current whole plane charter system will be created. How much would you pay to avoid the hassles of the current air travel system. I am doing market research on the subject and value your input.
